International law firm Bird & Bird has advised CapMan Plc, a leading Nordic private asset management expert, on the acquisition of 51 per cent of the shares of German based real estate debt specialist CAERUS Debt Investments AG. The transaction is expected to close in Q3 2025.
With the transaction CapMan launches a new investment area—Real Asset Debt—complementing the existing real estate, infrastructure and natural capital investment areas. The acquisition supports CapMan’s growth strategy and ambition to reach EUR 10 billion of assets under management through scaling existing real asset funds, launching new products and targeted acquisitions.
Bird & Bird’s cross-border team, led by Marc Seeger in Germany and Jori Taipale in Finland, provided comprehensive legal support throughout the transaction. The firm’s integrated approach ensured efficient coordination across jurisdictions and strategic advice aligned with CapMan’s business objectives.
“This transaction highlights the strength of Bird & Bird’s international collaboration. Our teams worked seamlessly to navigate the complexities of the deal and deliver a solution that supports CapMan’s strategic vision,” commented Marc Seeger, Partner at Bird & Bird Germany.
“We are proud to have once again supported CapMan in a strategically important transaction. We deeply appreciate their continued trust in our team and look forward to their continued success as they expand their operations”, added Jori Taipale, Partner at Bird & Bird Finland.
