I am an expert in the field of trademark law, for all questions concerning advertising, in competition law, copyright law and trade secrets. In the field of advertising law, I regularly provide guidance on questions of environmental advertising.
My expertise in trademark law includes contentious and non-contentious matters, in particular international trademark launches, the management of large trademark portfolios and complex trademark disputes.
Another focus of my practice is in the area of advertising, in particular environmental advertising. I regularly give advice on national and international advertising campaigns, which has led to in-depth knowledge on a variety of technologies and specifics of environmental advertising, such as sustainability, the circular economy, the mass-balance approach, advertising with green energy, recycling, certificates for compensation of emissions and the use of alternative and renewable raw materials.
Through my role as in-house counsel during a secondment for several years and as external counsel for many clients, I understand the challenge of finding the right balance between legal risks and a practical approach.
I regularly publish business-focused articles on trade mark and advertising matters, including the regulation of advertising and the placement and protection of brands on the internet. I am also the author of the section on the application of copyright law in the employment relationship in the German legal commentary 'Praxis des Arbeitsrechts'.
