We also have strong relationships with various Japanese organisations such as JCCI (The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry), JPAA (Japan Patent Attorneys Association), JIPA (Japan Intellectual Property Association) and JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), an independent Japanese government agency organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Japan Group
To provide global support to Japanese companies, we have launched Japan Focus Group, run by 11 members, spread across offices in Europe, Asia and other parts of the world, many of whom speak Japanese or have a deep understanding of Japan and Japanese companies. Its work is not limited to external matters and it is committed to ensuring that all lawyers provide a consistently excellent service to Japanese companies through a variety of activities, including organising workshops and training to promote understanding of Japanese companies amongst our lawyers.
The Japan Focus Group holds regular seminars in several countries including Tokyo, London, Dusseldorf, Warsaw, Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhage, Beijing and Hong Kong. The topics covered are wide-ranging, with recent legal seminars on GDPR, data privacy, the Foreign Direct Investment, the Foreign Subsidies Regulation and IP protection. We also provide seminars to JCCI (Japanese Chambers of Commerce and industry), JETRO and JIPA.
