Since joining our firm in 2013, I have advised on all aspects of non-technical IP law. My expertise focuses on trade marks, advertising regulations, copyright law, unfair competition law, design rights and litigation.
I have advised clients in a broad range of litigation and licensing matters, global branding and advertising strategies, and portfolio management, including conducting global clearance searches and supporting business expansions to new jurisdictions and new areas of business.
My experience as in-house counsel on a long-term secondment and as a long-standing external counsel for a number of clients helps me understand the challenge of striking a balance between legal risks and a practical approach. Clients value my experience in finding practical solutions to their daily business needs, often in multiple cases at the same time.
Because of my interest in all things media and digital, a particular focus of my practice is on advising clients in the digital sphere, including in relation to media trends, technologies, software, digital content, apps, social media and domains. I have developed a deep knowledge of this field, which quickly enables me to understand my clients' plans and expectations in today's digital world.
I regularly publish business-focused articles on trade mark and advertising matters, including the regulation of advertising and the placement and protection of brands on the internet. I have also authored the section on the application of copyright law in an employment relationship in the German legal commentary "Praxis des Arbeitsrechts".
