I am an Associate in our Dublin office, working primarily in the areas of data and technology regulation and exploitation, and consumer protection. I have a particular interest in the regulation of data, content and platforms.
My area of interest is advising content and data-rich businesses on the various laws impacting their products and services, including in the areas of content regulation, online safety, platform modelling, artificial intelligence and the emerging EU law framework on the new data economy. I advise clients on how best to protect, and harness the benefit of, data assets. I work in these areas in both an advisory capacity as well as on the related commercial contracts.
I also advise on Irish and EU consumer protection law, extending to compliance issues in B2C contracts and product modelling, advertising, selling to consumers via social media and sustainability claims.
My broader practice also includes advising on trade mark, copyright and trade secrets issues, in the context of cease and desist instructions as well as on the protection of such rights in commercial contracts. My interest in platform regulation and modelling also extends to the increasingly stringent regulation of intellectual property rights in this context.
As the regulatory regimes governing innovative products and services become more complex, I enjoy helping clients navigate the various current and new laws impacting their businesses. I take a holistic view in providing solutions, covering the areas of data and technology regulation, consumer protection, intellectual property and commercial contracting. I advise clients in the technology, retail & consumer, media, entertainment & sport and life sciences sectors.
Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I trained and qualified into the Technology & Innovation group of a leading Irish law firm.
