International law firm Bird & Bird advised Evli Private Capital on its strategic investment in Comadev Oy, a Finnish growth company specialising in diamond core drilling and sampling for the Nordic mining industry.
The €6 million investment, with an option for additional funding, will help Comadev in reaching its growth ambitions in Finland and internationally, including its entry into geothermal well drilling.
Evli Private Capital Fund I, which focuses on the green transition, targets minority investments in companies advancing energy transition, resource efficiency, and circular economy. The investment in Comadev includes both new equity and the acquisition of existing shares, positioning Evli Private Capital as a significant minority shareholder.
Comadev operates surface and underground drill rigs in demanding Nordic terrains, providing high-quality cylindrical rock samples essential for geological analysis, mineral exploration, and geotechnical testing. With approximately 50 employees across its headquarters and customer sites, Comadev has experienced rapid growth, reaching €12.9 million in net sales in 2024—more than doubling its revenue annually between 2021 and 2024.
