Xaver Bergmaier

As an associate in our IP practice group in Munich, I advise national and international clients - both in and out of court - in all areas of trademark, design, copyright and competition law.

I advise our clients in all relevant areas of trademark law, from strategic advice on portfolio development to trademark defence. In addition, my area of practice also includes advising on sports and media law matters. A particular focus is on drafting contracts (primarily licence and sponsorship agreements) and advising clients on copyright issues. In the course of my work as a lawyer, I have already worked with a wide range of corporate clients - from start-ups to internationally operating groups.

I completed both my law studies and my legal clerkship in Munich, during which I was able to gain considerable practical experience. In addition to my work as a lawyer at Bird & Bird, I am currently completing a doctorate on a topic related to corporate criminal law.
