About Me

Based in our Frankfurt office, I legally advise companies of all sizes on IT and New Technology issues. Our clients range from banks and FinTechs to private equity firms, public sector entities and tech companies.

I assist our clients in drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex IT-related contracts, complying with regulatory requirements for outsourcing in the financial sector, and dealing with IT disputes arising from (alleged) improper performances. My expertise is particularly focused on innovative and data-driven business models – such as cloud technology, Big Data, the Internet of Things, and anything-as-a-service solutions (XaaS).

A particular interest I have in (generative) Artificial Intelligence, where I help companies develop or implement legally compliant AI solutions and prepare them for important upcoming regulations – such as the European AI Act. Further, I explore the legal frameworks surrounding the video game industry and the Metaverse (Gaming & Law) and actively promote the integration of new technologies into our firm's legal advice (Legal Tech).

To share my insights and keep others informed, I regularly present and publish on all of the above topics.
Experience
  • Implementation of regulatory requirements for outsourcing in the financial sector in the contracts of an international software company (DAX-40); negotiation of the corresponding regulations vis-à-vis clients and US cloud computing providers (sub-outsourcing).
  • Advising outsourcing financial institutions on defects in large transnational outsourcing projects, e.g., termination or claiming damages due to delays or poor performance.
  • Comprehensive legal advice to an international software company in connection with serious licence infringements of a client; central coordination of affected jurisdictions.
  • Six-month secondment at a large German med-tech company to support their in-house data protection department; in particular, in the area of employee data protection and the processing of health data.
  • Several years of support for a service provider for payment transaction processing during the termination of several outsourcings in the banking sector; classic demigration as well as sale of the affected business area to successor service providers.
  • Advising on the creation of an IT concept in the insolvency of an international tourism group; among others, separation of previously jointly sourced IT infrastructure among the group companies.
  • Advising on the market launch of innovative AI solutions, e.g., in the field of medical diagnostics (IT contract law) or for a product for the automatic detection of fraudulent payments in e-commerce (data protection law).
