In our first issue of the EU Legislation Updates we bring you an overview of topics and priorities of the European Commission for year 2022. In the section devoted to artificial intelligence we look at the Study which analyses different types of biometric techniques from an ethical and legal perspective and draws conclusions for EU legislation. We also bring you a brief article on public consultation on “Civil liability – adapting liability rules to the digital age and artificial intelligence”. This consultation focuses on assessment of the need to revise the current legal frame of product liability in relation to AI driven innovation. Finally, we provide you with article summarizing the progress related to Digital Services Act, which aims to protect end users against illegal online content and goods.
