Road to MiCAR - Spanish view added

It is important to prepare for the changes coming with MiCAR now, the question is how crypto businesses already authorized under national law will be affected once MiCAR comes into force. In our next update we added the perspective of our colleagues in Spain to our Road to MiCAR.

As a result of local transposition of AMLD 5 in Spain, crypto exchanges and wallet providers or activities related to cryptocurrencies targeting persons in Spain are subject to registration requirements. Activity related to crypto-assets in Spain are obliged to register by the Bank of Spain (Spanish NCA for supervising banking services). Additionally, it must be noted that the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV’s) Circular, among other issues, regulates advertising of crypto-assets targeted to Spanish investors when it is carried out by providers of services over crypto-assets. Our Guide will be updated on a regular basis.
