I'm a senior counsel in our international Intellectual Property Group in Denmark. I have extensive experience in advising clients on international legal matters, including IP.
I advise our clients on a broad range of topics within all fields of intellectual property law, including in particular copyright law, trademark law and marketing practices law.
As a significant part of my practice, I advise clients across a great variety of sectors, including media, music and life science on dispute related matters – both IP related disputes and disputes of a general commercial nature.
I also advise on IP related transactional matters, including with the drafting and negotiation of licensing agreements, distribution agreements, and other agreements disposing of intellectual property rights. I also frequently advise on IP related aspects of M&A transactions, and generally advise on M&A transactions where IP rights are in focus.
In addition to dispute related and transactional matters, I also advise on regulatory matters, including within the life science sector.
Before joining Bird & Bird, I spent a number of years practising law in the US, specialising in advising on issues involving US-Danish law. A significant part of this work involved helping Danish clients (often technology based) with US interests set up US corporate structures, taking due consideration to both commercial and tax aspects, as well as the need for adequate shielding of liability. I often helped clients draft and negotiate corporate and commercial contracts, and advised on dispute resolution, including instructing and overseeing litigation counsel retained on the client's behalf. I still draw from my experience working in the US, when advising clients facing Danish-US law issues.
In 2021, I authored the chapter on computer games for a Danish legal text book used in a graduate level course in entertainment law offered by the law faculty of Copenhagen University. An updated version of such chapter is contemplated published in the course of 2024. Also, in 2022, I co-authored the chapter on Denmark in "International Copyright Law, A Practical Global Guide" published by Globe Law and Business.
