Dr. Mateusz Zuk

I am a senior associate in our Intellectual Property team, specialising in litigation. I also advise on agreements for the sector of new technologies and internet services.

I have been advising clients since 2012. I specialise in litigation involving trademarks, industrial designs, unfair competition and copyrights. I represent clients in judicial proceedings involving infringements of intellectual property rights, as well as before the Polish Patent Office and the administrative courts. I have extensive experience in representing clients before the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the EU General Court, and the Court of Justice of the European Union. I also represent clients before the Court of Arbitration in Matters Concerning Internet Domains at the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

I prepare and negotiate commercial agreements, including agreements on software and new technologies, such as implementation, service, license and assignment agreements. I prepare rules and regulations and other contractual templates, i.e., for internet service providers.

I have comprehensive experience in due diligence audits involving intellectual property rights and commercial agreements. I also advise clients on internal restructurings of intellectual property rights.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I gained professional experience at a renowned Polish law firm.

I defended my doctoral dissertation on EU trademark law. I lecture on intellectual property law at Kozminski University.
