About Me

As a specialist for employment law in our Hamburg office and a member of the Practice Group for International Employment Law, I advise on all areas of individual and collective employment law, often in a transnational context. Clients appreciate my assessment of the economic background of their issues, which leads to solution-oriented and pragmatic advice.

My practice covers all aspects of ongoing personnel work, from the start of an employment relationship and the associated individual contractual arrangements to termination by mutual agreement or unilateral separation. In the latter case, I regularly assist with internal investigations in order to prevent the threat of legal disputes or to prepare for them in the best possible way. In addition, I advise on small and large-scale restructuring, where collective bargaining topics and the works council's co-determination rights often play a decisive role. Although I gladly fight for my clients in court, the better solution is often found at the negotiating table.

A particular focus of my work is on international matters, for example when employees work across borders, or in the case of cross-border transfers of undertakings, or international outsourcing projects. I have a doctoral degree in private international law with highest honours.

In addition to employment law, I regularly advise on the topic of employee mobility: international assignments, residence law requirements for working in Germany and the related social security aspects. I regularly assist our clients' future employees in obtaining a residence and work permit and facilitate a smooth start in Germany.

My clients include well-known national and international companies as well as corporations, especially technology companies.

Outside of my practice, I regularly lecture on employment law topics and am the author of various publications.
