Bird & Bird advises Gamma on its admission to the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange

International law firm Bird & Bird has advised Gamma Communications plc (“Gamma”) on its admission to trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. This is one of the first AIM to Main Market move ups since the London Stock Exchange reformed its listing rules in 2024 and accounts for the fifth listing mandate for Bird & Bird since the start of 2024.

Gamma is a leading technology-based provider of communication services across Europe. They offer a range of solutions including unified communications, voice enablement, connectivity, mobile and security.

The Bird & Bird corporate team consisted of partners Clive Hopewell and Fiona McFarlane, with associates Zoe Bannell-Symes, Thomas Davies and Kevin Wu.

Lead partner on the matter, Clive Hopewell, commented: “We are very pleased to have assisted Gamma on their recent listing on the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market. As a longstanding client of Bird & Bird, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to advise on this key milestone in Gamma’s impressive growth story. This deal adds to Bird & Bird’s growing repertoire of listings that we have assisted on in recent years.”

Neil Blundell, Bird & Bird’s client partner for Gamma, commented: “We have been working with Gamma for 14 years and have developed a very strong commercial relationship. I am personally delighted to see Gamma reach the next stage of their ambition, as I was involved in advising on Gamma’s AIM IPO ten years ago. Our long relationship with Gamma demonstrates Bird & Bird’s capacity to advise technology clients in all aspects of their business including, in Gamma’s case, significant international expansion.”

Andrew Belshaw, CEO of Gamma remarked, “Thank you to Clive and the team at Bird & Bird for navigating us through the move-up process, 10 years after the firm assisted us with our original AIM IPO. The move-up process went very smoothly, on time, and within budget. We are delighted with the result.”
