Bird & Bird has advised FUNKE Mediengruppe on the acquisition of gofeminin.de, one of the leading online women’s lifestyle spaces in the German market.
The seller is French media company auFeminin SAS, a subsidiary of the TF1 Group. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
FUNKE had already acquired the health site Onmeda.de from the French media company in January 2021, where FUNKE was also advised by Bird & Bird.
gofeminin.de and its social media channels will become part of FUNKE's Digital Brands Network (DBN), one of the widest-reaching digital editorial networks in Germany with over 40 million unique users. The 34-person team at gofeminin GmbH, as well as the team at Onmeda.de, will continue to work from the Cologne office. With its broad editorial mix of topics from fashion & beauty, love, motherhood and pregnancy, and fitness and nutrition, the site receives almost 9.6 million visits per month. The acquisition also includes the gofeminin community, where around 1.7 million members exchange ideas, as well as gofeminin’s successful social media channels with hundreds of thousands of followers.
