EU legislation update (March 2021)

In this issue of EU Legislation Updates, we bring an overview of the recent European legislation news. However, we are starting "at home" and for the telecommunications sector we provide a summary of the legislative process of implementation of the new European Code of Electronic Communications in Slovakia. On the European Union level, we continue to monitor the development of the Digital package, currently we are providing you with opinions of the Panel of Economic Experts and the European Data Protection Supervisor, who also submitted their comments.

The Portuguese Presidency of the Council set as its objective to promote a resilient, social, green, digital and global Europe, and one of its priorities is the finalizing the e-Privacy Regulation. In addition, we also provide an overview of the process of implementing the new copyright rules in the digital market and the commercial users of the online platforms may be interested by the report on the adoption of guidelines on the ranking criteria for online search results.

Finally, we enclose an overview of the ongoing public consultations.
