Rachele Macor

I am an associate in the Intellectual Property department at Bird & Bird's Milan office and I mainly deal with extrajudicial and contractual assistance in different IP areas, including trademark and PDO/PGI protection, as well as advertising, consumer protection law and franchising law.

I have experience in various IP areas and I am currently focused on IP extrajudicial and contractual matters concerning the Retail & Consumer sector. With respect to this sector, I assist both national and international clients in non-contentious and contentious matters on IP, including trademark and PDO/PGI protection, unfair competition, advertising, consumer protection law and franchising law.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked in a boutique law firm specialised in intellectual property, as well as in the IP department of an international law firm.

During my work experience I also joined the legal team of a luxury fashion company for a six-month secondment where I had the opportunity to better understand the needs and goals of the company, broaden my skillset and deepen my knowledge in the luxury-fashion industry.

• I regularly advice Italian and international clients on marketing communications, T&C and content of websites, misleading/comparative advertising, consumer protection (such as unfair commercial practices and abusive clauses), trademark and PDO/PGI protection, unfair competition, franchising law and distribution issues.
• I have also gained experience in IP litigation (trademarks, patents, designs, trade secrets), as well as in other IP-related issues, such as drafting licence/assignment agreements and protection of the companies' IP portfolio in the context of legal due diligence.
