About Me

As an associate in our Finance & Financial Regulation practice group I advise national and international clients on financial regulatory and finance matters.

In my years with the Finance & Financial Regulation practice group at Bird & Bird, which began during my legal studies at Goethe University Frankfurt, I gained deep knowledge of the since increasingly regulated European financial sector.

Today, my advice focuses on regulatory issues of credit institutions, financial service providers, payment service providers and e-money institutions with an emphasis on the interaction of regulation, the digitised banking landscape and the business models of FinTechs, InsurTechs and RegTechs. My advice covers all aspects of banking and investment supervisory law, beginning with the licence application processes and investment structures and further including ongoing advice, for example regarding questions on outsourcing or advice on anti-money laundering regulations.
My advice further encompasses capital investment law, in particular, I advise regulated investors such as insurance undertakings or social insurance agencies (Sozialversicherungsträger). My experience further includes (cross-border) financing, in particular the project as well as asset financing of renewable energies, in addition to all questions of insolvency law, corporate (finance) and international private law.

Stages of my legal clerkship at the Frankfurt District Court led me inter alia to the Resolution Directorate of the German Financial Supervisory Authority (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht - BaFin), the financial supervisory department of a magic circle law firm as well as to the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations in Vienna.

Besides my work as an associate, I am currently working on a doctoral thesis on the topic of the financing of the German health sector at the University of Bayreuth.
