Neely Middleton

I am an associate within the Commercial Group, based in our London office. I provide clients from a range of sectors with legal support on various commercial matters.

Since qualifying in August 2023, I have regularly advised on a range of technology agreements including software licensing, development and support services and SaaS and cloud based technologies, acting for both suppliers and customers.

During my training, which I completed at Bird & Bird, I completed six months within the Franchising and Distribution team within the Commercial Group, in which I worked with a variety of Retail & Consumer clients. Due to this, I have developed a particular interest in the cross-over between technology and retail, and the digital transformation of the Retail & Consumer sector.

Further, I have a strong passion for diversity and inclusion within the legal sector, which has led me to co-chairing Bird & Bird's LGBTQ+ network, StandOUT.

• Worked with a global workspace provider to co-ordinate the localisation and automation of various agreements across the EU, Asia and Africa. The use of our document automation platform was nominated for the "Most Innovative Use of Technology" award at The Lawyer Awards 2023.
• Worked alongside our Corporate Group on the due diligence of technology contracts within multiple transactions
• Worked with multiple well-known brands on the review of their Master Service and SAAS Agreements.
• Advised various clients on their international modern slavery obligations.
