Martin Dolnák

I am an associate and member of the international tax group at Bird & Bird focusing on tax aspects of M&A transactions, intellectual property tax as well as tax litigations including criminal aspects of tax law. Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked as a tax lawyer in one of 'big four' companies and local law firms.

As a qualified tax advisor and an attorney at law, I have provided clients with tax services in connection with acquisition of assets or shares, relevant tax due diligence projects or services connected to creation of holding, financing, or licensing structures (private equity funds, real estate investment funds, wealth management advisory). I have supported clients from various industry sectors including Financial Services, Energy & Utilities, Tech & Comms and Media, Entertainment and Sport.

In addition, I assist clients during tax audits focused on corporate income tax, transfer pricing as well as VAT including pleading before Administrative courts. While I was cooperating with the International Section of Ministry of Finance, I was involved in negotiation and legislative work connected to a wide network of Double Tax Treaties, Mutual Agreement Procedures and Advance Pricing Agreements. Furthermore, I have participated on BEPS legislation as well as other projects focused on tackling aggressive cross-border tax planning structures aimed at profit shifting.

Apart from my native Slovak, I speak English and Czech.
