David Sýkora

As a commercial and technology attorney at the Bird & Bird's Prague office, I assist local and international clients mainly in information technology and telecommunications law, intellectual property law and privacy and data protection. To a large extent, I also help clients overcome regulatory challenges in the constantly emerging technology areas.

I have experience in negotiating contractual documentation, especially various license agreements and other software agreements, such as SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, managed cloud services or contracts on custom software development. I also deal with projects related to the development and implementation of new technologies, both from the commercial and IP law as well as from regulatory perspective. I have assisted global software vendors in negotiating over a hundred high-value ICT contracts and in converting to paperless operations.

In the area of data protection, I am CIPP/E and CIPM certified. I bring extensive professional experience from client support in legal and technological aspects of data protection and privacy regulations. I navigated a leading car manufacturer in implementing data protection compliance having focus on digital products and services, smart devices and car infotainment services. Similarly, I supported a worldwide electronics manufacturer using advanced industrial and technological knowledge, particularly covering the IoT operations for smart home appliances.
