About Me

I am a Partner at our Budapest office and have been practising law in Central and Eastern Europe for over 25 years.

I specialise in international and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, as well as in private equity and real estate transactions. I also have expertise in the energy, health care and communications sectors.

I have been a guest lecturer at Eötvös Loránd University Law School in Budapest and at the Central European University Legal Studies Programme. Today you'll find me recognised in all the leading ratings guides, including Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR 1000, as well as Best Lawyers.

I am a member of the Washington D.C. Bar, a Foreign Legal Advisor with the Budapest Bar and a member of the International Bar Association. Before joining Bird & Bird, I was the Managing Partner of the Budapest office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
Experience
  • Represented a global private equity firm in the acquisition of distressed debt and collateral from five Hungarian banks in respect of a large shopping center and office complex in Budapest. In the second phase, assisted the client in the acquisition of the underlying real estate assets. The transaction value was in excess of EUR 200 million.
  • Advised Iron Mountain, Inc., a Fortune 500 global records management and data center company, for over a decade in a number of joint venture and acquisition projects in various emerging markets as well as other matters. The projects included transactions in China, India, Latin America, Russia and Turkey.
  • Assisted Marriott International, Inc. with the establishment of a new Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Budapest. The hotel is managed by an affiliate of the client, and is owned by the Al Habtoor Group of Dubai.
  • Advised Providence Equity Partners in its investment in Sziget Cultural Management, one of the largest festival organizers in the Central Eastern European region, including the Sziget Festival, Balaton Sound, Telekom VOLT Festival, Gourmet Festival and Gyerek Sziget (Children's Sziget).
  • Represented TDF SAS of France, a portfolio company of Texas Pacific Group, in the EUR 180 million sale of its Hungarian subsidiary, Antenna Hungária Zrt., a terrestrial broadcasting, telecommunications, new media and network and satellite services company.
