Carlo Quaranta

I am Counsel in our Human Resources Services Group in Rome with around 20 years' experience in employment law. I support companies, multinational organisations and top managers in managing and solving any employment issue with legal implications.

I have been a lawyer for my entire career and passionately practise employment law, supporting clients in solving and managing any HR issues they meet. I work closely with their HR function and I am always sensitive to the clients' business expectations and needs.

In particular, I advise domestic and international companies in their day-to-day HR management and on any issue involving the relationship with their employees, top managers and self-employed contractors. I also provide them with the necessary legal support to face any extraordinary events affecting the company and those that may impact the workforce (e.g. reorganisation, mass redundancy procedures, transfer of undertakings).

In addition, I have accrued significant experience in employment litigation, labour relations and agency contracts. I also have extensive knowledge in data protection law and its application within the employment relationship, with a specific focus on issues relating to the monitoring of working activity, as well as in the protection of trade secrets and confidential information within the employment relationship.

I am co-author of 'Privacy and Employment Relationship' and several other publications on employment law and speak at seminars concerning employment law.

• Advised a multinational company on a reorganisation project affecting more than 130 employees. I supported the client from the beginning of the project including with the risk analysis, the schedule and its implementation.
• I provided legal support to a multinational company for the closure of several stores in Italy, and the consequent mass redundancy procedure.
• I assisted a company in the negotiation of a separation agreement with a top manager, appointed to the office as managing director, with a value of more than €1.5m.
• I successfully defended a client in a dispute brought by employees challenging the transfer of the branch where they were assigned.
• I successfully defended the client in proceedings started by the Executive.
