Seow Hui's practice covers all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment work.
She has significant commercial litigation and international arbitration experience, and has over her years of practice developed a specialist focus in employment disputes. She regularly represents and advises Fortune 500 companies and listed entities in relation to key employment issues with the goal of protecting employers' commercial interests. Seow Hui's key areas of expertise are: restrictive covenants and trade secrets protection, assisting clients in obtaining urgent injunctive relief against employees in the Singapore High Court; workplace investigations into allegations concerning employee misconduct and high-stakes investigations relating to statutory non-compliance (e.g. the U.S Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the UK Bribery Act); and complex executive terminations involving cross-claims, successfully assisting clients in negotiating mutual settlement agreements as an alternative to litigation.
Seow Hui also handles the day-to-day drafting and review of employment contracts, employee handbooks/manuals, executive compensation and benefits, international assignments, employee transfers in the M&A context, international reductions-in-force and business immigration matters.
Seow Hui has a keen understanding of the Chinese legal system and business climate, from her previous practice in Shanghai with another international law firm and is familiar with regional aspects of employment law, gained from her exposure in leading and co-ordinating regional employment initiatives on behalf of her clients.
A member of the Singapore Academy of Law, Seow Hui holds an LLB Hons from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2007. She is an accredited mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.
