As a counsel at Bird & Bird, I focus on intellectual property, information technology, copyright and advertising, unfair competition and consumer protection law, regulatory compliance and contracts relating to those fields, as well as contentious and non-contentious business.
I advise on website content, with special reference to the examination of the various legal problems associated with the online sale of goods and services (including web reputation issues and consumer protection).
I also prepare applications and defence pleadings in proceedings before the Italian Competition and Market Regulator for Unfair Business Practices pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 2005/206 (as amended), as well as activities in contentious proceedings relating to unfair competition in comparative advertising and/or misleading advertising.
I assist with contentious and non-contentious business relating to trade mark disputes, PDO/IG, as well as due diligence relating to intangible goods (trademarks, domain names, etc.). My work also includes non-contentious activities involving reviewing various clients' advertising campaigns, analysing critical factors and drafting opinions.
I prepare applications and defence pleadings in proceedings before the Italian Advertising Standards Authority, regarding the compliance of advertising with the Commercial Communications Self-Regulatory Code. I also prepare applications and defence pleadings in proceedings before the Italian Competition and Market Regulator regarding the compliance of some advertising with Italian Legislative Decree no. 145/2007.
I provide advice on regulatory compliance, health claims and labelling, especially in the food, fashion and cosmetics sectors.
Since 1999, I have worked in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Department at Insubria University, Como/Milan. Before joining Bird & Bird in 2003, I worked in the IP department at two global firms. I am a native Italian speaker, but I am also fluent in English.
