Marta is Trademark and Patent Attorney specializing in industrial property law and Life Sciences.
Marta is Counsel in Intellectual Property team at Bird & Bird's Warsaw office. Since 2006 she has been advising clients from a wide range of sectors, including life sciences, FMCG, cosmetic, food and beverage, spirits, publishing, telecommunications and DIY.
She assists clients with the development and implementation of IP protection strategies, including brand management. She represents clients in registration, invalidation and cancellation proceedings before the Polish Patent Office and the Office Harmonisation of the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs).
She has also significant pre-trial, trial, and appellate experience in IP infringement matters. She specializes in matters regarding IP rights infringement on the Internet, including domain name recovery and keyword advertising. Marta is also an expert on life sciences regulatory law especially on pharmaceutical and food law. She is a co-author of the first Polish Commentary for Pharmaceutical Law Act, 2009.
Marta studied Law and Economics at the Interfaculty Individual Studies in the Humanities of the Warsaw University in Poland as well as at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.
In 2015, Marta was recognised by the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers competition in the category of Intellectual Property.
She was also ranked among "Rising Stars Lawyers - tomorrow's leaders 2015", by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, a top Polish business daily, and Wolters Kluwer Poland, and obtained the highest position among lawyers specialising in Intellectual Property and New Technology law. She was the only patent attorney included among the winners.
She is fluent in Polish, English and German.
