Marta is an experienced expert in intellectual property and life sciences.

Marta is a Partner in our Intellectual Property practice, based in Warsaw.

She has been advising clients on the protection of industrial property rights and combating unfair competition since 2006, focussing on the life sciences sector, in particular in pharmaceutical law. Her client are drawn from a variety of sectors, including life sciences, FMCG, cosmetics, food and beverages, publishing, telecommunications and DIY.

With extensive experience in IP litigation and prosecution, including patent disputes (mainly in the pharmaceutical sector), Marta develops global protection strategies in the pre-trial and trial phases, ands prepares freedom to operate reports and invalidity/non-infringement opinions. She advises on issues concerning counterfeited goods, parallel imports of branded products, as well as exhaustion of intellectual property rights.

Marta also advises on the management of trademarks and industrial designs portfolios, representing clients in proceedings before the Polish Patent Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

Her practice also encompasses the infringement of intellectual property rights on the Internet, in particular in domain name recovery and keyword advertising cases. She represents clients in proceedings before common courts as well as before the Court of Arbitration for Internet Domains at the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

Marta is an expert on regulatory issues in the field of life sciences and a co-author of the first Polish commentary on the Polish Act on Pharmaceutical Law 2009. She advises on issues relating to pharmaceutical advertising, retail and wholesale distribution of medicinal products, reimbursement and borderline products.

She studied law and economics at the Interdisciplinary Institute of Humanities Studies at Warsaw University in Poland, as well as at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.

She works in Polish, English and German.
