Prior to joining Bird & Bird in 2018, I worked as an associate at another leading international law firm, where I advised clients on a broad range of competition law matters, focusing in particular on State aid issues and merger control (including representation before the Belgian Competition Authority and the European Commission). I also obtained considerable experience in sector-specific regulation. I have also represented clients in trade defence procedures, both at the administrative level before the European Commission and before the Courts in Luxembourg.Being a lawyer at Bird & Bird allows us to work in integrated international teams, across various geographies and (legal) cultures, while using top-notch legal tech products to help us provide qualitative advice in an efficient manner. I believe this allows us to find original legal solutions in an evolving world and facilitates engaging with clients in novel ways. In addition to my position at Bird & Bird, I am also a teaching assistant at the Institute for European Law at KU Leuven, where I coach one of the University's moot court teams. Having participated in moot court competitions myself during my studies, I believe it is important to 'give back' and help students find their passion.
