International law firm Bird & Bird has advised Nordic Unmanned Holding in the successful sale of AirRobot to Quantum Systems, marking a significant step in the consolidation of the European drone and aerospace technology landscape.
The two AirRobot entities, formerly held by Nordic Unmanned ASA, were acquired by Nordic Unmanned Holding and subsequently transferred to Quantum Systems. Going forward, Nordic Unmanned Holding will concentrate its resources on advancing Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations through its operating company Nordic Unmanned, and on accelerating the development of automated drone-in-a-box solutions via its OEM subsidiary, DroneMatrix — a leading European provider of autonomous drone infrastructure.
AirRobot is known for its advanced unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and has delivered mission-critical drone technology to governmental and commercial clients, including the German Bundeswehr. Under Quantum Systems' leadership, AirRobot’s technology and expertise will be further enhanced and scaled through a global innovation platform.
Bird & Bird worked alongside Norwegian legal counsel to address corporate, regulatory, and cross-border legal aspects of the transaction.
