I am the managing partner in our Helsinki office. I have extensive experience advising on a wide range of corporate, M&A and real estate transactions.

International law firm Bird & Bird has advised as a lead counsel Patria, a Finnish defence and technology company, on the sale of its 60% stake in Milworks OU to Mootor Group. Milworks, based in Estonia, provides lifecycle management services for military vehicles and equipment.

The transaction supports Patria’s strategic focus on consolidating its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations in the Baltic region to its expanding Valmiera site in Latvia.

Mootor Group, previously a minority shareholder with a 40% stake, will become the sole owner of Milworks following the completion of the deal.

The Bird & Bird advisory team included partner Mikko Ahonen, counsel Petteri Metsä-Tokila, senior associate Katariina Leino, and associates Maria Karpathakis and Viivi Nissinen.

Ara Haikarainen, General Counsel of Patria states: “Bird & Bird, led by Mikko Ahonen, was vital in delivering a smooth and strategically impactful exit for Patria in the Milworks OU transaction, and we highly recommend their team for cross-border transactions.”
