On 26 May, the European Commission imposed provisional anti-dumping measures of more than 22% on imports of heavyweight thermal paper (HWTP) from South Korea. The decision follows a complaint filed by the European Thermal Paper Association (ETPA) and its members from Germany, Finland and Spain. The group was represented by Bird & Bird’s Brussels-based Trade and Customs team.
HWTP has many applications, including labels in the e-commerce sector, event tickets and more. The decision marks only the provisional phase, with many months ahead to get to the definitive stage.
Bird & Bird acted for the European Thermal Paper Association (ETPA). The Bird & Bird LLP team was led by partner Hein Hobbelen and included partner Anne Federle, associates Baptist Vleeshouwers, Dirk Ignacio, Kiliane Huyghebaert and Pauline Van Sande, and senior public affairs manager Francine Cunningham.
