Deals or Distress for the Hospitality Sector? Thursday 7 March

Bird & Bird, together with HVS, AlixPartners and EP Business in Hospitality, were pleased to present our latest webinar on Thursday 7 March on the topic “Deals or Distress for the Hospitality Sector?”.

Charles Human of HVS updated us on recent deals along with his expectations for the coming year and Graeme Smith of AlixPartners presented his expectations on the level of potential distress in the market, which was followed by a panel session, moderated by James Salford of Bird & Bird, during which key questions were addressed:

  • How will the interest rate and economic environment impact hotel transactions in 2024?
  • Will we see an increase in hotels being brought to market as a result of distressed debt positions?
  • Will mezzanine and pref. equity providers be the key players in managing the capital stack in 2024?
  • Are reduced interest rates the solution to bridging the bid-ask gap?

Thank you to our brilliant panellists!
