Paula Alexe

As a Regulatory and Public Affairs Advisor, I help clients navigate the dynamic EU environment.

Born in Hungary to Romanian parents and raised in the United States, I grew up with a curiosity about the world around us and the effects policies have on society.

During my time in the United States, I pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy at the University of California, Berkeley. Over four years, I immersed myself in various disciplines and subjects, eventually developing a passion for political science and political economy. This led me to further my studies with a Master of Science in Political Science (International Relations) at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Following the completion of my education, I gained experience in the tech industry before undertaking an internship at the European Parliament. This invaluable experience provided me with a deep understanding of the EU legislative process, igniting my desire to forge a career focused on public affairs in Brussels.

At Bird & Bird, I am a member of the Regulatory and Public Affairs team. I collaborate with public affairs professionals and lawyers to assist companies in navigating the ever-changing EU landscape. My responsibilities include aiding clients in preparing for forthcoming legislation, developing advocacy and engagement plans, and ensuring organizations are in compliance with incoming laws.
