About Me

As an associate in our London-based Intellectual Property Group, I have expertise in a broad range of IP rights including patents, trade marks and designs, with a particular focus on the life sciences sector.

I have extensive experience in IP litigation in the UK, working on all aspects of cases at both High Court and Court of Appeal levels.

As part of my practice, I have developed a particular focus on co-ordinating and managing multi-jurisdictional intellectual property litigation. Spending over a year on secondment in the litigation team of an international pharmaceutical company helped me to gain an understanding and appreciation of the interaction between the 'big picture' commercial needs of clients and how legal strategy can assist in achieving these aims.

I take a particular interest in life sciences because I studied biochemistry at university, although my work has spanned a range of sectors including retail & consumer, media and food & beverage.

I also advise clients at in relation to other aspects of IP enforcement and protection, including drafting of commercial agreements and assisting in trade mark opposition matters.
  • While on secondment at an international pharmaceutical company, I worked closely with the business to develop and advise on strategy for early launch opportunities. One product opportunity that I discovered became one of the company's biggest launch at risk products that year.
  • Co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional trade mark litigation for an international pharmaceutical company.
  • Obtaining a pan-EU interim injunction for the tobacco company Philip Morris International on the basis of a Registered Community Design for its IQOS reduced risk product to prevent the sale and exhibition of a copycat Chinese product.
  • Acting for the international pharmaceutical company Merck KGaA against MSD in High Court and Court of Appeal litigation for trade mark infringement and breach of contract.
  • Acting for multiple pharmaceutical companies in patent litigation in the High Court, including Takeda and Teva.
  • Acting for Associated Newspapers in relation to its METRO trade mark portfolio, including acting on trade mark oppositions and drafting settlement agreements.
  • Acting for Jarden SEB (a consumer products company) in patent litigation relating to their Tefal Actifry product.

  • I graduated from Oxford University with a Masters degree in Biochemistry and subsequently completed my GDL and LPC.
