About Me

I am a partner in our Commercial Group in London, specialising in the retail and consumer and technology sectors.

I focus on providing tailored, practical advice to clients within the broader context of their business and the markets in which they operate.

I regularly work with some of the largest names in retail, food & beverage and technology, providing on-going legal and commercial support on a wide range of commercial areas including franchising, distribution and agency agreements, and other hybrid growth strategies. I also advise on manufacturing, warehousing and logistics arrangements, the supply of products and services, software licensing and other technology-based solutions.

I've been on secondment to our Brussels office to work with our competition team, helping me to have a better understanding of the competition law issues that arise in complex licensing and supply arrangements. I also gained valuable experience as a trainee whilst sitting with our Dispute Resolution and International Employment practices.

I have written a number of articles for the International Journal of Franchising Law, and authored chapters in The Franchise Law Review on Africa and Kazakhstan.
Experience
  • Advised a well-known international food and beverage client on the complex distribution and logistics arrangements for their entire UK network of outlets, following a critical failure in their distribution system earlier this year. This required close alignment with colleagues in our commercial litigation department, to firstly advise on and settle the dispute, and then negotiate the terms of the new distribution and logistics contract.
  • Advising global workspace provider IWG plc for many years, on their international development strategy and in-country licensing arrangements across the EU, Asia and Africa.
  • Advising a global mattress and bedding manufacturer on implementing strategic changes to their EU distribution and licensing arrangements.
  • I have helped advise many smaller clients and start-ups on their initial contractual documentation - including manufacturing, distribution and licensing agreements, and T&Cs for the supply of products and services (often e-commerce).
