Mira Zhang

I am an associate in Privacy and Data Protection practice in our Beijing office. My practice focuses on data privacy, cybersecurity, telecommunications and IP protection.

I have in-depth experience on IT projects, cloud services, vehicle networks, and biometric data protection, etc. I advise multiple MNCs in data cross-border transfer projects, including data security assessment by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), Chinese SCC filling, PIA for cross-border transfer from China, as well as relevant localisation of customer & employee privacy policies, consent forms, various internal compliance policies and other data related documents.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked in a top data protection team in a leading PRC law firm, and was heavily involved in data privacy and cybersecurity projects with in-depth research / reports covering topics such as biometric data protection, vehicle data compliance, data outbound transfer and data breach response, etc. Before then, I had worked as a Legal Counsel at an internet & high-tech company and a leading automobile MNC for 4 years. I passed the PRC Bar exam.
