About Me

I am an associate in our Commercial Group in London, specialising in the healthcare and life sciences and technology sectors. I advise clients on a broad range of matters ranging from large outsourcing projects to GDPR compliance.

I regularly advise on a wide range of commercial issues with a particular focus on software development and licensing, cloud computing, the supply of products and services, outsourcing and data protection compliance.

I have worked on a number of 'virtual secondments' in the technology sector which have involved providing advice on various IT and outsourcing projects for both software providers and customers (including a leading insurance provider and an NHS Foundation Trust). These secondments have helped me to gain a better understanding of the issues facing our clients.

I also gained valuable experience as a trainee whilst sitting with our Intellectual Property and Banking and Finance practices.
Experience
  • I have worked on a number of large projects over the last few years, including assisting on the restructuring of a joint venture comprising multiple NHS Foundation Trusts for the provision of pathology services – a deal which formed the basis of a nomination for Commercial Team of the Year at the British Legal Awards. This required careful project management including close alignment with colleagues in our real estate, tax and international HR services teams. I also helped provide long term contract management advice in relation to an agreement for the deployment of upgraded air traffic management services and advised an Ofgem regulated company in procuring services as part of a wider IT project for the delivery of an energy switching solution.
  • Alongside the larger projects, I have provided ongoing, long term data protection and commercial contracts advice to a large US-based clinical research organisation, including with respect to its GDPR compliance programme. This involved conducting a gap analysis of current practices against the requirements of the GDPR, followed by careful project management to ensure that the programme could be completed prior to 25 May 2018.
  • I also recently advised a large, multinational restaurant company on various of its IT development and cloud computing agreements for use across multiple jurisdictions and I provide ongoing advice to a well known retailer with respect to its technology contracts.
