Joanna Puhto

I am an associate in our Real Estate group in Helsinki.

I advise domestic and international clients on a variety of matters relating to real estate, construction law and development projects. In addition, I advise our clients on matters relating to real estate transactions and general corporate law.

I joined Bird & Bird in 2019 as a trainee and finished my Master's Degree from the University of Lapland at the end of my traineeship. Before my graduation, I also worked in a variety of positions in the public sector as well as at another major law firm. In addition, during my studies I completed exchange studies at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, where I studied international business law and alternative dispute resolution.

I work fluently in Finnish and English. I enjoy working with clients and daily opportunities to learn something new and challenge myself. In addition, I like problem solving and I find it rewarding to find solutions to my clients' needs. I wanted to become a lawyer because I was fascinated by the variety of tasks and challenges of the job. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family and friends. I also enjoy sports, especially going to the gym and reading books.
