Bird & Bird advised Aedifica and Hoivatilat Oyj in the sale of a child day-care centre portfolio

International law firm Bird & Bird advised Aedifica and Hoivatilat Oyj in the sale of a Finnish child day-care centre portfolio to Kinland, a social infrastructure company providing high-quality properties for educational and care services.

The portfolio being sold includes 10 child day-care centres with a capacity for approx. 875 children. The portfolio was built by Hoivatilat between 2012 and 2020 and is operated by Touhula, Pilke, Norlandia and Murunen. The transaction value was approximately EUR 25.6 million.

Hoivatilat Oyj, founded in 2008, is part of the Aedifica group and specializes in producing, developing, owning and leasing out day care centre and nursing home premises, service communities and also schools. Aedifica, incorporated in 2005, is a regulated real estate company under Belgian law and it is listed on Euronext Brussels and Euronext Amsterdam.

The project was led by Counsel Tuukka Korhonen assisted by Senior Associate Joanna Puhto and Associate Noora Kähkönen. The Bird & Bird team was led by Partner Jaakko Hietala.
