Iina Lahtinen

As a senior associate in our Dispute Resolution Group in Helsinki, I advise our clients on various matters related to disputes.

My areas of expertise in dispute resolution include court and arbitration proceedings. I have also gained experience acting as a secretary to an arbitral tribunal.

Before graduating, I worked as a trainee and thesis trainee at Bird & Bird. During my studies, I also worked at a Nordic banking group for several years. During my studies I went to Sweden to do my student exchange at the University of Gothenburg, where I studied European law.

My work at Bird & Bird includes a full-time secondment as a legal counsel at a client company operating in the financial sector. During my secondment I learned how much value it adds to my work to observe the business of the client as a whole even if the advice to be given concerns only a detailed part of the business.

Due to my background and expertise from the financial sector, alongside dispute resolution I also advise our clients on various matters related to contract law and insolvency matters. My expertise includes different financing agreements. I also advise our clients on matters relating to data protection and compliance.
