I am a partner in our Dispute Resolution group in Finland. I specialise in commercial dispute resolution, as well as real estate-related matters.

International law firm Bird & Bird acted as legal advisor to Mrec Investment Management Oy on a project to build a modern logistics centre in the rapidly developing Bastukärr area of Sipoo.

In line with its logistics strategy, Mrec IM continues initiating new projects. The new project is guided by ambitious ESG goals, aiming for A-energy class and BREEAM Excellent certification. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2024.

Bird & Bird advised on the negotiation and drafting of the long-term lease agreements and construction contracts. The lead advisors were real estate law specialists partner Mikko Rajala and associate Iina Lahtinen.

Elsi Luhtanen, partner at Mrec IM commented: "It was a pleasure to continue working with Iina and Mikko on this project. Their diverse expertise in real estate legal issues, understanding of industry practices and solution-oriented approach were very valuable during the negotiation phase of this project."
