Emine Alper-Mert

I am a counsel in Bird & Bird's Corporate team and based in The Hague.

My key practice areas are national and cross-border M&A transactions, structured as share or asset deals, private equity transactions, joint ventures and other corporate transactions. I furthermore advise domestic and multinational clients on the incorporation of ESG into their business strategies and the implementation in operations, supply chains and business relationships throughout value chains.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I was the Regional General Counsel EME(N)A for a Fortune 500 company in the material science and manufacturing industry. In this role, I was part of the leadership team and responsible for all corporate governance, legal and compliance matters in over 27 countries and have led teams of legal professionals in various corporate transactions.

With a career spanning over 20 years and my wealth of experience in both private practice as inhouse, I can act as a true business partner to companies in various industries and can provide pragmatic, cost efficient and quick advice.

• Assisting a Fortune 500 company on various corporate and corporate-related transactions, including:
• Assisting on the acquisition of the European business of a California based private equity firm active in high quality pressure- sensitive materials;
• Assisting on the acquisition of a pressure sensitive materials manufacturer of specialty films headquartered in Israel with facilities in the US, Germany, China and Australia;
• Assisting on the acquisition of a transponder business developing and manufacturing radio frequency identification (RFID) products headquartered in the Netherlands and having manufacturing facilities in Germany, Malaysia, China and the United States;
• Assisting on the legal and internal integration of the businesses of newly acquired companies;
• Assisting on the acquisition of a leading full service provider of embellishment solutions and applications and printing methods for performance brands and team sports headquartered in the Netherlands and with production facilities in The Netherlands and Turkey;
• Assisting on the ESG implementation and developing policies and procedures aligned with ESG goals;
