As an associate in the Corporate Tax team, I advise clients on a broad range of tax issues that affect them at different stages of the business life cycle.

From tech start-ups to established high street retailers, I advise businesses across an array of sectors on the tax issues that matter to them today and help them to structure their arrangements effectively as they grow.

Since joining Bird & Bird I have helped to structure and re-structure businesses for clients looking to grow both in the UK and internationally, often with IP and technically complicated VAT elements. I also regularly act on M&A and financing deals and have experience advising on joint venture arrangements and employment tax issues such as the off-payroll working rules. My work often has an international element, and I am used to collaborating with advisors across different jurisdictions to come up with solutions that work cross-border.

I became a tax lawyer because I like the challenge that this area presents. It can be a complex and often evolving field, and I enjoy working through those complexities to find the most effective solutions for clients.

• Catalyst Clinical Research: advising alongside U.S. law firm Smith Anderson on the acquisition of Aptus Clinical, a UK based clinical contract research organisation specialising in the design, conduct and delivery of early phase clinical studies with a particular focus in oncology, rare diseases, cell and gene therapies.
• Crowdform: advising on the sale of Crowdform, a leading web3 venture builder and digital product studio focused on gaming and products related to web3, to web3 incubator Pioneer
• BPD Global Group: advising on the acquisition of Lexco Limited, the leading IBM Maximo Partner in Hong Kong.
• 4R Digital: advising on the tax aspects of its Carbon Value Exchange (CaVEx) platform project, a digital market platform that links micro-projects to carbon markets.
