Dr. Natalie Ackermann-Blome

As an associate in our Inellectual Property Group, I advise domestic and international clients on all matters of Intellectual Property Law with a particular focus on patents, utility models and trade secrets.

I have particular expertise in litigating patents in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, semiconductors and mechanics. This includes cross-border infringement proceedings as well as parallel validity proceedings (at the Federal Patent Court, the Federal Supreme Court and the EPO). Additionally, I advise on contractual IP matters and on trade secret protection.

Before joining our firm, I was an associate with an international law firm in Frankfurt where I gained valuable experience in IP law. I hold a PhD in patent law and have worked as a research assistant at the University of Osnabrück while completing my PhD studies.

• Defending companies against patent infringement allegations as well as enforcing patents against infringement in (cross-border) patent infringement disputes (preliminary injunction proceedings and main actions).
• Contributing to various validity proceedings (at the German Federal Patent Court, the German Federal Supreme Court and the European Patent Office).
• Analysis of intellectual property rights and their strategic enforcement.

• Representing a manufacturer of LED enforcing its patents against competitors in cross-border patent disputes.
• Representing leading pharmaceutical companies in a cross-border patent dispute regarding monoclonal antibodies.
• Representing a manufacturer of compressors for vehicles in infringement and invalidity proceedings in a cross-border dispute with a competitor.
