About Me

As a partner in our Intellectual Property Group in Hong Kong and Head of our Life Sciences & Healthcare Sector Group in Asia, I have 24 years' experience in advising clients in the life sciences, healthcare, food & beverage and retail & consumer sectors.

I advise pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies on regulatory issues, market authorisations, clinical trial agreements and public sector procurement. In recent years, I have also been involved in negotiating R&D agreements and technology licensing for life sciences companies.

In addition to being a regular speaker at international conferences, I was involved in lobbying the HKSAR government and the HKSAR Legislative Council on copyright law reform. I am a member of APAA, INTA and the HKTMP.

The Hong Kong and China actions are part of a series of ongoing worldwide actions between the parties and they touch upon complex issues including contract law, trademark infringement, unfair competition, company name rights, the effect of proceedings in the UK and conflict of law issues.
  • A global pharmaceutical company: representing the client in defending against patent infringement proceedings in Hong Kong in relation to one of our client's generic drugs which has obtained marketing approval but has not formally launched in Hong Kong. It relates to the highly novel legal issue of whether obtaining marketing approval in itself is sufficient to constitute patent infringement in Hong Kong.
