I am an experienced corporate lawyer with extensive experience in local and cross-border mergers and acquisitions in energy & utilities and real estate & infrastructure, as well as in public projects. I am the joint managing partner of our Singapore office.

Today, I provide advice to government agencies, regulators, multinationals and international organisations. I routinely advise on corporate restructures and transactions, and advise on post-merger integration. I handle a large number of transactions for utility and infrastructure projects, technical and IT contracts, public procurement and tenders, state leasing work, as well as strata management in Singapore and across the Asia Pacific region.

I also act as the legal adviser to a number of local regulators including the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, the Building & Construction Authority, Jurong Town Corporation, the People's Association, and the National Arts Council.

I have advised on a number of innovative public projects in Singapore, such as the first EPC template contract for energy conservation, electricity futures, contestability, energy storage testbeds; the first sectoral competition appeal in the gas sector and the first tri-generation project. I also advised on Singapore's first LNG terminal as well as the iconic SportsHub PPP project.

As well as speaking at professional events covering energy, competition and corporate governance, I sit on the council of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), the Energy Studies Institute (ESI) and the Waste Management & Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS) and on the board of two local charities. I am also the appointed legal advisor to the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC).

  • Energy Market Authority: on the recent implementation of Singapore's first utility-scale Energy Storage System (ESS) testbeds awarded to CW Group and Red Dot Power.
  • Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE: SEE): in its acquisition of Fagerdala Singapore Pte Ltd., a manufacturer and fabricator of polyethylene foam with global subsidiaries for approximately USD$100 million in cash.
  • Poet Technologies (TSX-V): a developer of opto-electronics fabrication processes in its US$18.4 million acquisition of DenseLight Semiconductors, including its global photonics business and assets, including fabrication facility, intellectual property and technologies.
  • SportsHub: one of the largest sporting infrastructure PPP projects in the world, on the retail and catering components for the integrated sports, entertainment, and lifestyle hub.
  • Petredec: one of the world's largest LPG trading companies, in its joint venture with Hashi Energy for the importation, storage, distribution and retail marketing of LPG in Kenya and neighbouring countries.
  • Acted for a subsidiary of Bolloré, a highly diversified, independent industrial group that ranks among the world's top 10 in transport and logistics in the purchase of a special purchase vehicle owned by Boustead for securing a longterm lease of the industrial property.
  • Changi Airport Group: operator of Singapore's world class aviation hub, on collaboration arrangements and pilot projects to enhance user experience via data analytics and creative design technology.
  • Policy papers and draft regulatory documents for Singapore regulatory authority on provisions of the Electricity Act and related Codes of Practice such as Retailer Code, Market Support Services Code and Regulated Supply Services Code, including advice on the drafting and implementation of contestability thresholds and vesting regime.
  • Involved in first–ever appeal relating to finding of anti-competitive provisions in the Gas Act, which included issues of anti-competitive agreements and abuse of dominant position as well as the procedure for enforcement by the regulator
  • Advisor to National Arts Council on the strategic partnership and operational contracts for Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert hall, national monuments and heritage buildings which are icons of the Singapore arts scene.
  • Acted for ExtraSpace, a US provider of self-storage units, with over 1,370 facilities across 37 states plus Washington, D.C in the acquisition of self-storage operations from a local self-storage operator Store4You.
