Philipp provides profound knowledge in dispute resolution and arbitration proceedings.
Philipp is counsel and member of our Dispute Resolution practice, based in Frankfurt.
Drawing on his longstanding experience, he advises national and international businesses including financial institutions in all matters of civil law. He represents a range of clients, mainly from the automotive and banking sectors, in various German courts. Philipp is familiar with the peculiarities of other European legal systems. He also has extensive experience of carrying out internal investigations and compliance audits as well as handling mass actions.
Philipp studied law at the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, the University of Cambridge, the University of Miami and studied administrative sciences at the German University for Administrative Sciences in Speyer (DHV Speyer). He obtained his doctorate from the University of Hamburg and the Max Planck Institute for comparative and international Private Law (IMPRS for Maritime Affairs) dedicating his studies to jurisdictional issues of maritime disputes. In addition to his dissertation, Philipp has also contributed to the corresponding academic literature, including on the seizure protection of documents from internal investigations (Legal Privilege) as well as on money laundering. Prior to joining us, Philipp worked for a renowned, international law firm.
