Brazilian-German Workshop on Mini- and Micro-Generation of Energy

“On 6 November 2019 ANEEL (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica), the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency, held a Brazilian-German workshop on Mini- and Micro-Generation in Brasilia, Brazil. Matthias Lang discussed experiences with the German Renewable Energy Act (EEG). This covered in particular the reduction of support payments and how the support regime developed from feed-in tariffs to direct marketing and now auctions to determine price levels.”

“ANEEL invited Brazilian and German experts in renewable energy support to discuss challenges of implementing and adjusting renewable energy support schemes. The workshop was designed to exchange German and Brazilian experience in the field of renewable energy generation. The German Society for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH) supported the event.

- Prof. Christian Pielow, Ruhr University Bochum, Institute for Mining and Energy Law, on ‘Liberalisation of the European electricity sector and strengthening the role of consumers’
