Bird & Bird welcomes Tim Spillane as a partner in its London Employment Practice

International law firm Bird & Bird appoints Tim Spillane as a partner in its International Employment Group to focus on contentious employment and trade secret matters.

Tim will join the firm in September after nine years at Stewarts in London where he was a partner and Head of Employment. He started his career at Simmons & Simmons, where he spent seven years in its employment team.

Bird & Bird's International Employment group's strategy has to date been to provide clients with employment, employee benefits and business immigration support around the world. As part of its strategy, the international employment group intends to vigorously develop its investigation capability in both Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Ian Hunter, Partner and Co-Head of Bird & Bird's international Employment Group says: "We are really thrilled to welcome Tim to Bird & Bird and our international Employment Group today. He has great expertise and is extremely well regarded amongst colleagues and peers. I'm sure he will provide a real boost to our contentious employment offering."

Tim says: "I'm very pleased to be joining Bird & Bird, having been impressed by its people, truly international platform and continuing opportunities for growth in the employment practice. I look forward to working with my new colleagues around the world.
