Bird & Bird wins 'Patent Firm of the Year' and recognises three 'Thought Leaders' at the Who's Who Legal Awards

Bird & Bird last night was awarded 'Patents Firm of the Year' at the 4th annual Who's Who Legal Awards in London yesterday.  This achievement showcases the firm's international strength and quality of its IP practice and is particularly significant to companies looking for a reputable firm in light of the imminent start of the UPC.

This award follows the impressive accolade the team received in last year's Who's Who Legal 100 guide, where Bird & Bird was listed as the leading firm in the world for intellectual property.

Robert Williams, co-Head of the Intellectual Property Group in London, attended the black tie ceremony at the Plaisterers' Hall to pick up the award on behalf of the team.

Three Bird & Bird lawyers were also recognised as 'Thought Leaders' at the ceremony: Mark Abell, (Franchise, London), Jan Byok, (Government Contracts, Düsseldorf) and Jonathan Taylor, (Sports, London).

Who's Who Legal's researchers spend months collecting hundreds of thousands of recommendations from private practitioners and in-house counsel in order to identify the global legal market's most widely recognised and accomplished firms and individuals.
