DCMS Review finally published but more uncertainty ahead
The Government has finally published its much awaited initial response to the consultation on proposals for changes to Gaming Machines and Social Responsibility Measures, which was slated to be released in May 2017 but was delayed following the calling of the general election.
Immediate gains for major operators’ share prices upon the release of the Government’s report suggested that the market considers the Government’s proposals to be broadly less damaging than they could have been, or at least represented the postponement of bad news.
